AHC Group Senior Associate
An AHC Group Senior Associate & Workshop Chair since 2009, Ken Strassner is an honors graduate (1968, magna cum laude) of Yale College and of Yale Law School (1974).
Prior to joining Kimberly-Clark Corporation in 1976, Ken served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He also practiced with a law firm in Washington, D.C., and served as Executive Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health. His legal specialties include U.S. and international environmental and energy law, product safety matters, and occupational safety and health requirements.
In 1988, Ken was appointed Vice President — Environment and Energy at Kimberly-Clark, with responsibility for formulation of corporate policies and management of the company’s technical support staffs in both areas. From 2004 through 2009, he served as Vice President — Global Environment, Safety, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs for Kimberly-Clark.
In this role, he also had responsibility for the company’s Occupational Safety program as well as its Product Regulatory and Product Safety staffs. Ken also managed the development of Kimberly-Clark’s first Corporate and Business Unit Sustainability Plans and supervised the company’s relationships with outside stakeholders interested in the Corporation’s Sustainability performance.
In addition, Ken has served as Kimberly-Clark’s Liaison Delegate to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, as Chairman of the Corporate Environment, Health and Safety Management Roundtable, as a member of Kimberly-Clark’s external Sustainability Advisory Board, as a member of the Steering Committee for the Forests Dialogue, as a Board Member and President of the European Disposables and Nonwovens Association, and as a Board Member and Treasurer of the National Environmental Education Foundation.
Ken is also an Instructor in Environmental Law at Georgia Tech, one of the nation’s top research universities.
